Still Waiting...

For Spring here, still cool and raining again!

I had a day off midweek, ALL to myself.  SO, is CRAZY BUSY at work, the paper work is official as of today, the Casino sold and the new owners have ownership.  SO,  has LOTS and LOTS of changes ahead.  It is bitter sweet for him and, is going in with an open mind.  With all that is happening at work for SO, it leaves me with a lot of time to myself.  I am trying to make the most of my time with projects.  So, when SO is back to a somewhat normal schedule and the weather warms up, we can play outside together.

I dug out my Charm Pack Quilt Along, UFO from last year.

Finished up the blocks...

And tried several lay outs...

                                                                               # 1

# 2

                                                                              # 3

                                                                             # 4

                                                                             # 5
There is suppose to be a 2" yellow inner border and larger outer border, I am thinking the red floral that is in the quilt.

Which layout do you like?  Suggestions appreciated,,,  Thanks!

  1. Hi there, I just found your blog, I love yellow so your blocks attracted my attention. I really love option 5.

  2. If red floral is going to be used for the outer border then I would use the last layout.

  3. I loved #5 best!! Just popped the fabric!!

  4. Oh I love this QAL - I have it bookmarked for "someday". My favorite layout is #3 - love that zig zag - but all of these are great. You can't go wrong- happy stitching!

  5. I have to say that #5 is my favorite also ... not to go along with the crowd or anything, but it does 'do' something for your fabrics :) The red second border will be real nice.

  6. Another vote for #5. Very pretty quilt!

  7. My best guess is that perhaps #5 will be the winner. Definitely "frame" the quilt with a touch of red - then add the yellow. What a stand out. Judy C

  8. #3 gets my vote, but I have to agree that I like them all. And I'd do a narrow red border, and a wider yellow border. Have fun!

  9. Number Five is perfect. It's fun to see the options before you sew it all together. Very pretty quilt. :-D
